Tomi Astikainen is an author who is a strong advocate of creative commons and unrestricted sharing of knowledge to help humanity. He has a unique background that combines leadership and strategy understanding with non-profit work and social entrepreneurship.
Tomi holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration, with a major in Organizations and Management. He has been working on both private and non-profit sectors as a leader, coach and consultant. He has facilitated trainings in more than 100 conferences, seminars and events in Finland, Estonia, Norway, Sri Lanka and Belgium: addressing multi-national audiences from small teams to delegations of 250 people in size.
He found out that writing is his passion at the age of sixteen. He wrote a plethora of short stories and poems before his first official publication “Diversity management and team leadership in a nonprofit organization” – this was his Master’s Thesis. He moved temporarily to Sri Lanka and went on to write books online. “Republic of Eelam Ltd” – a fictional novel based in future Sri Lanka. “My number five values – What they don’t tell you in personal development books” is a blog-type interactive work. “Mind Your Elephant – How to get rid of your ego, connect with others and save the world” is his latest produce.
